123 Pedestrian Bridge

123 crossing 2

This project consists of the design and construction of a new pedestrian bridge (overpass structure) to improve pedestrian connectivity and safety at the intersection of University Drive and Ox Road (VA Route 123) spanning over the existing shared use path along the northbound side of the road as well as all existing lanes of traffic. It is intended to provide a safe route for students, faculty, staff and community members from one side of the road to another connecting to existing sidewalks between residence halls. This bridge should provide increased mobility and connectivity through the campus.
